  1. Would not recommend it. Your eyes need to breathe and get oxygen to them.

  2. That would depend on the lens.  If you are wearing Focus Night and Day or Purevision, then you may be able to.  Not all monthly replacement lenses have extended-wear approval from the FDA.  Additionally, not everyone is a good candidate for 30 days continuous wear. Therefore, you may wish to consult your eye doctor to see if you are a good candidate.

  3. You shouldn't.  My mom almost went blind because she left her contacts in too long.  You should take them out every night if possible.  A couple of days won't kill you but you shouldn't do it.

  4. If your contacts aren't especially made for overnight use then you need to take them out daily. Before my lasik I had 2 week disposables that I took out every night but I would keep using them for as long as I could. I didn't have insurance so I had to pay out of pocket and those things are expensive. I got a really bad infection that forced me to wear glasses for two weeks. It is almost the same thing because in both cases you are wearing the contacts longer than you are supposed to.

If you want to wear them overnight they do have two or three brands that you can do that with but you should check with your eye doctor to find out if your eyes are suited for them.

  5. Yes, they're designed for that, but it is still better to take them out and clean them each night. But with the extended wear, it isn't a big deal if you forget one evening.

People who wear their extended wear contacts for extended periods do have higher rates of corneal damage.

  6. well, as an experienced monthly contact wearer, you could leave them in, but i do not suggest it. Your eyes need to "breath" to be able to function properly, and you can temporarily or permanently damage your eye sight. If your sleep with them in, your eyes will feel very dry and irritated, and your vision will blur for a bit. This happens to me a lot. I would suggest taking them out every day to help protect your eyes, as well as your contacts. If you have other questions, please feel free to ask me!
