Can i leave the u.s for more than 1 moth while in d.e.p for the navy?

i just talked to my recruited about me leaving to Colombia for 6 weeks with vacations purposes, he said it was alright and that we will make everything when i come back but he didn't sound too happy, he sounded like i shouldn't do that or something, then i ask him if it was fine and he said yes.. should i really go out of the country for more than a month or try not to?

Well, your recruiter is probably upset because that is 6 weeks where you are not going to work out or prep for boot camp. When do you ship? If you don't ship for 4 or more months, then it is fine. if you only have like a month when you get back, perhaps think about making a shorter trip.

Heres the deal, until you're in the military, you're not in the military. Go on vacation. Civilians don't need to ask recruiters if its ok to go anywhere.
