Can i legally insult this cop?

Question

i live in maryland..This cop sits by some store by my house and he told me once to get off my skateboard and so i did and apologized and now whenever i walk past him with my board in my hand he starts yelling at me and threatening to take me to the police station saying i was proly bout to skate after i passed him..this cop is an a*****e and i want to let him know.so can i legally do that?and do i have to stop to let him say all this c**p when all im doing is walking with a skateboard??

Try best as you can not to make enemies with cops.  If he truly is an a*****e, have an adult file a complaint.  

I'm sure he is an a*****e to everyone else, so you don't stand out.  But, if you decide to start hollering at him, he could dedicate his life to destroying yours.

Yeah, i guess you could insult him, but then most likely he'd arrest you over some offense he may or may not have caught you doing. The thing to do is to report him to his superiours. His supervisor, or captain, and let him know all the details. If you have the means, video tape this officer harrassing you, let a friend film you while you interact w/ the officer, and thers your proof. Your story reminds me of that police guy who was acting all tough to some 11/12 yr olds last year , i think it was in Boston. Officer Reveriar, Riveiara or something like that, now he, war a real jerk. Most cops are good, but you get some bad apples too.

he can't arrest you for carrying your skateboard while walking (at least in my state).

Well to insult legally especially to cops, at some point of time you will have to be right and he'll have to be wrong, besides you will need to have enough evidence to prove your words.

You can say whatever you want to him, but there will be consequences. Officers like this don't usually take kindly to insults. If you want to insult him, make sure that there are witnesses there when you do it, and not just friends, and make sure that he initiates it. Also, do not curse at him. He might try to give you a rough time about it and threaten to arrest you.
