  1. Hi,

Yeah it'll poo all around the room, and well you can't really train a bird to go poo. So really the only way is to watch for it to poo and then clean it up.

  2. I used to let my bird rome free around the house but he did p**p every where. I'm afraid there isn't a way to potty train them.. just keep a tissue around. They're too cute to keep them locked away.

  3. Very high chance that you will find little poops everywhere.

They don't call them bird brains for nothing.

  4. Cockatiels p**p on average about every 15-20 minutes.  When they are allowed to have free flight they eliminate right before take off and it doesn't matter where they are when they take off, they will eliminate.

You can potty train your tiel to go in the cage or over a trash can by getting familiar with his/her average time between poops and watch for the signs (backing up, putting his/her tail against the floor or your shoulder or whatever he/she is sitting on).  Once you know how to read the signs and have a good idea of how often your tiel eliminates then simply take him/her to the cage beforehand and say "go potty" or whatever command you choose to use.  Then offer praise or a treat when the job is done successfully!

Do this often enough and long enough and do it EVERY time and eventually the bird will return to the cage or other designated potty spot and go without prompting.

  5. You can let it fly free, it is good for the birds health. Yes it could p**p everywhere and on you, but you can train it not to.

  6. they have a high metabolism and is almost impossible to potty train a teil. not saying it can't be done. most birds void every few minutes...

it will p**p regardless of where it is. they will void where they are sitting or flying. there is absolutely no way of controlling it. it will void on you, especially if you have a fresh clean shirt on. chances are pretty good. sorry

  7. they p**p everywhere unless you train him to p**p in a certain area/place which can take a long time and patience. i dont have any problems since my parrotlets wings are clipped and he lives in a huge cage

  8. He would probably poo everywhere, but its worth a try, i don't really mind if my bird poo's everywhere, but its not pleasant. I sometimes let my bird fly free outside, but she is very, very tame and trained and she also has clipped wings, so i wouldn't suggest this.
