Can i lift up my pregnant hambster?

my hambster has been sitting in the same spot for almost 6 hours now, and i don't know if she has had the babies or not. So can i pick her up to see if she has had the babies yet?

yes you can. if she had the babies already, you could even pick up the babies. be careful though

Very gently and not far up. So she and the babies won't be injured if she should fall a tiny bit. Have a pillow under her just in case. Congratulations on the babies!

well its not a good idea because if she did have them she could get scared and eat the babys and if not then she is goung to have them soon

i would leave her alone.  she might be preparing to have the babies and she is probably stressed a bit right now.  picking her up might upset her more.  let her relax.  

she needs to be comfortable in her environment.  let her have the babies in peace.  once she has them don't change the cage for two to three weeks.  if she feels disturbed she may harm the babies.  don't be worried if you see babies in her mouth.  she is just moving them around which they can do often.  

you should safely be able to pick up the babies after three weeks.  if your hamster if a first time mother be very careful not to stress her out around the babies.

btw...the room you have the cage in should be quiet and don't have bright lights on.

you can, it is just that you have to be really careful... because if you touch it on the wrong spot, it could injure.. or kill the baby. My friend had a pregnant hamster and she would't let me hold it because I did not know where to hold it. I do not think I would want to hold it anyway... Because if I killed the baby..........  I would of felt horrable.

Try not to its going through pregnancy. Because its getting heavier it will need to stay rested or move gently.

But...... Its your choice if u want pick it CAREFULLY!
