  1. There is no fine for not removing your car but you can't bring in another

You should have gone to the nearest Aduana office and given them the remains of the car.   That way they can remove it from the computer.   Having only the sticker proves nothing

If you are worried about a fine - cancel your credit card and get a new one

  2. check with the Mexican consulate en Chicago bring the sticker also if you have the police report about the accident show to them and see what they can do for you but I think you need to return to the border so don't have problem in the future .

  3. No...this is a problem several people hav written n about lately...forgetting to turn in the permit...or an accidentpreventing them from proving the car was totaled.  You can try contacting the Mexican consulate in Chicago.

A guy wrote in here about a week ago...had tried EVERYTHING...was getting nowhere...looked like he was going to just have to let them charge him the fine for not being able to prove his car had been totaled in Mexico. He had tried to turn in the permit when he left, but since he could not show them the car, they would not accept it.   He even had the poilce report showing the car had been totaled.  I hope someone has better news for you, but , so far I have never sen a solution to this.
