Can i make a friendship from scratch?

theres this guy i found online, whos lives in the same city as me. he seems kinda cool and we have alot of common interests, but no common friends so this friendship will have to be made up by me. i added him on msn but how do i do it?

Firstly, be careful about people that you meet online because you have no true idea who they really are. But if you're sure he is who is says he is, then begin by talking to him over msn. Ask him stuff about his intrests, how his day went, etc etc. Your friendship should develop from there.

I have a friend like that, whom i met about a year ago. I've only talked to him online and now he's one of the few people i can start a really random conversation with =)

try to get to know him...

and if he sees that you are beengenuinen with him h**l do the same...

I wouldn't scratch too much. it could turn him off.
