ok when i installed the turbo on my honda d16z6 i changed the spring in the wastegate because i was going to be running untned for a while. so im only pushing around 3-4 psi for now. and my bov is too hard and 4lbs isnt opening the bov and i set all the way to soft and its still not blowin off and its giving my turbo a surge.... i opend my bov and it has 2 springs in it a small one and a thicker one. i took out the big one and left the small one in it and now its feels softer when i push it with my hand...do you think it will now blow off...

i havnt put it back on my turbo cause ive been busy and had thrown a blitz one on there mean while i took the greddy type s i took the spring out of. i know some ignorant people on here will just say well put it on and try!! but i want to know if any one on here has done this before.??? and if it started blowin off and stopped the surge ... so thank you people for the help and you ignorant for the BS hate. l8r you guys....plz dont be an ignorant hater.

  1. Yes it will. But I don't think its the springs fault. Your engine should be making at least 20hg of vacuum that should be more than enough to pull you BOV open. Have you checked the diaphragm in the BOV to make sure its not torn or leaking?  You can check when it opens if you have a vacuum gauge/ pump. Because if its too soft, it will stay open @ idle and will suck unfiltered air in to you engine or your boost will push the BOV open and cause you to have a boost leak.

  2. Depending on the manaufacture you could purchase new springs for your blow of valve to accomplish what you need. I think Tial you can do that with.

I figured I could go out and say i'm a hater but not ignorant.

outlining the make and model of your BOV in this question would have helped. Generally when asking a technical question some technical information would help.
