Can i move my Comcast DVR box to a different room?

Can I move it to another room? Do I have to call the Cable guy to program the DVR box or will it work wherever I plug it into the cable?

As long as you already have cable in that room you will not have a problem, though the box will take a few minutes to reprogram.  If you do not have cable in that room then yes a tech will need to activate the line.
