  1. In the USA you must be 18 to open your own checking account.

Reason: A minor cannot enter into a contract legally until 18. Opening an account is a contract with the bank; signing a check is a contract to guarantee payment.

It's great that you want to get started. You can open a savings account, with your parent's help.

Suggest make sure it's a no min balance and no fee account.

    Good Luck! :)

  2. yes of course u can  u can opoen a bank if u r over 13 yr old

just go 2 a bank and they will tell u 2 fill some forms in

but ur parents have 2 sign it

  3. yes you have to be 14 to get a checkings or savings account. you can go to Bank Of America.. or any bank that is near you and let them know that you want to open a student account but someone over 18 have to go in and co sign you but they dont have any access to your account.  since u mentioned wochovia here is the link to apply for free checking account online. but also go to the bank for any additional info you need, hope this helps!

heres additinal information i found on wachovia.com

How old do I have to be to open a Wachovia checking account?

New customers must be 15 years old to open a checking account*. While minors from 15 to the legal adult age can have non-custodial accounts, we recommend the account be opened with an adult joint owner, preferably a parent or guardian.
