  2. Yeah.  If you are on the title, you have to be the primary policy holder and your mom will be added to it.

  3. sure you can

1.adding a car is cheaper than insuring separately

2.your mother is an older driver ,lower rates

              GO FOR IT!!!!!!

                          "BRILLIANT"!!!!!!!!

  4. If you are going to be a named driver on your mother's policy, you would be better registering the vehicle to her. You are doing it this way to get cheaper insurance no doubt, be aware that insurance companies are very hot on this, so if you are in fact going to be the main driver, make them aware. The policy will cost more, but in effect it is a false declaration to say your mother would be the main driver when in fact it is going to be you. In the event of an accident, the insurers could be difficult over paying as you have not been truthful with them. They will be particularly suspicious if your mother already has insurance on another vehicle (they can easily check) and is stating she is main driver on both. With regard to you driving if you are not named, that is an offence, as you would be driving with no insurance. It is the person who is insured to drive that vehicle, not the vehicle for any person (unless you have an any driver policy). In the UK you would have the car taken off you at your expense, given a week to get it insured and collected, or it would be sold or scrapped, and sent to court for having no insurance. If you are going to be the main driver, register your car to you and get your own insurance. Expensive yes, but welcome to the world of motoring!

  5. If you are buying a new car and will make payments on it, the insurance policy MUST be in YOUR NAME.

If you are buying a new car out-of-pocket (no payments), just register it under your mother's name so it can go on her insurance.

Either way, if a car is registered to you, the insurance must be in your name.
