Can i pause the video im playing and go to another scene and then play and "jumps"?

ok so i have this camera... the model is a 'KODAK EasyShare Z760' and when im playing videos i try to pause what im filming so i press the button on the top to stop filming and then play it when i want it to and it's what i call "jumping". but when i continue filming it goes to a whole 'nother clip. whats up with that?

Your question's confusing, but I think you're describing what's supposed to happen - you record something, you stop recording, you start recording again and you get a new clip.
