Can i pay a visit to the us without a canadian passport?

i have a canadian permanent resident card but do not have a canadian passport rather, i have a ghanaian passport.and if i can, how do i go about it?

Of course, how else would you do it given that you are not a Canadian citizen?  You will also need a visa from the US embassy or nearest US consulate.

Since you are not a citizen of Canada you will need a passport to travel to the USA.  You will also need a visa because Ghana is not a member of the Visa Wavier Program.
