I have a credit of 9000$ , and so far i payed 7000$. I want to pay the rest of money (2000$) , but i heard that those 7000$ were only the bank interests , and if i want to pay the whole credit it will be extra 9000$ , the real credit. My question is , how can i do to pay only 2000$ more to complete my 9000$ credit ,and finish with the credit? Do we have a law or something?

Thank you !!!

  1. First of all, you are responsible to pay the interest.  However, sometimes you can call the credit card company and settle on an agreed amount.  You might say "I owe you $2,000 for purchases and another $800 in interest, will you take $2,200 no and call it good?".  Sometimes they will take an offer like that and sometimes they won't.  If they don't take the offer, you have to either pay or file bankruptcy.  If they do take the offer they will certainly close your account.

  2. Call your bank and make a offer a lot of times they will settle for less then you own and show your account as paid.

I have done this several times and it works.

Just be sure to get the agreement in writing before you pay them.
