My DVD player has no MPG card so it can't play VCD's. Please help. Will DVD players play CD's also. Then i can convert the videos to *.vob*(normal dvd video format). and write it into a cd. Will it then play the cd or should the cd also be a dvd.

  1. You can try the dvd burn software, It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format. Pro version included all the features of the lite version. In addition, it has embedded "DVD Author Express" and "DVD/VCD/SVCD Burner Engine". So it becomes an all-in-one VCD/SVCD/DVD Creator. And it has been optimized for 64 bit CPU.

  2. I think you're asking if you simply convert a video file to a .vob file and burn it to a CD, will it play on a DVD player...is that right?

If so, then the answer is, probably, no.  DVD players are kinda tricky things to get video to play on.  My personal recommendation is something called ConvertXtoDVD.  Guess what it does?  Yep...sadly, the trial version has a watermark that is placed on the video.  You might consider purchasing.  It's worth it.

Y'know, it's only a CD; they're cheap.  Just burn a .vob file onto it and throw it into a DVD player.  If it didn't work, then it's ok, it's only a CD, right?
