Followed the sport all my life so i know a fair bit about the game. Played a little in primary school but that's worth nothing right about now. High school didn't offer the sport, weird I know! I guess i just followed my cousin into Soccer when i was younger, quit at 15 and have hated the game ever since.

I am pretty fit and health, played touch throughout school and still play socially now. I'd be dead keen and put in the effort for sure, I'd have to toughen up and work on my defence, I know that much!

Question is, do you think a 23yo can play rugby league? Are there some lower grades i can start in? Maybe a young masters competition? hahaha Can anyone suggest any clubs in Brisbane?

Any advice would be much appreciated! cheers!

  1. Go for it robo!  Just ring the QRL and ask them where your local club is and then give them a call.  Most clubs have numerous grades that would be appropriate.  I returned to league at 22 after finishing through injury at 12!?  I'm now 36 and still playing "Golden Oldies" and love it.

  2. yeh join a local team play A grade park footy, good fun

  3. There are clubs all around Brisbane. By the sounds of your build you most likely play Hooker or Halfback, depending on your ball skills.

  4. Depends - do you want a broken nose, cauliflower ears and no neck?

  5. go for it why not? you might be the next big thing
