Can i prevent myself from getting tonsillitis?

ok, so i have to babysit this kid tomorrow and the mom told me she (the kid) has tonsillitis. what should i do to make sure i don't get it or make my chances less of getting it?

  1. To prevent yourself from getting tonsillitis, force your fist down your throat and rip your tonsils out. It may hurt a bit, but at least you won't get tonsillitis. Glad I could help!!

Tonsillitis itself is not contagious, it is the cold or flu or what ever the child has that started the tonsillitis in the first place.  If she has been on antibiotics for a few days, she is not contagious anymore.  Just make sure she does not cough or sneeze on you.  Wash you hands a lot with hot water and soap, and try not to touch your face a lot.  Germs get on our hands, then we touch our faces, and the germs enter our bodies through the mouth, nose and eyes....
