  1. You will have PLENTY of time to get a 4 year degree before a Major airline will pick you up. You need to have alot of experience as PIC in a regional or private twin turbine aircraft before a major will even look at you.

Getting the maintenance engineering sure won't hurt but, yes get a degree.

  2. sure you can if  you  are in india

  3. Yes; a four-year college degree is absolutely required now before an applicant will be considered by the flight crew hiring officials of a major airline.

There are people who will tell you that you don't need the four-year degree, but they are living in the past or engaging in wishful thinking.

You do not have to do these things in sequence.  You can work on your pilot training at the same time you are taking your college courses.  There are many ways to intermix the elements of training and education you need.

    Good luck!

  4. Find a good employer and just ask them what you need for the job you want to get.

  5. The 4 year rule is not mandatory throughout the world. What really is required are your Licences, Ratings, experience and your Medical category. Your joining the 3 years licensing course would not hurt, but should not be considered a pre-requisite for pursuing your flying career in major airlines.

  6. Don't think of any thing ,Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is the best choice, that if you are sure want to be a pilot!!!.Every body got confused with this course.IT IS CONSIDERED AS UG.Still you can do MBA(Airline and Airport Management) and other PG.

As my suggestion if you join in A.M.E you will come to know as many things ,the pilot wont know.

If you completed A.M.E ,pilot training is nothing, most of the Atpl subjects are covered except MET and NAV.

But be careful all courses what i mentioned are specific and unique .Its all depend upon their own country economy and market.

Consider India, every body saying 5000,6000 pilots required by this year and next fore-coming years. As per the Airliners survey by considering the ppl's applied for their job openings.

9000 pilots are in excess, thats what we say surge in aviation industry will be in 2009-2010

IT WILL INCREASE OR DECREASE IN 2009 NEAR END.

Main cause for this is the excess peoples in industry ,fuel price hike, low far declarations ,no/low upgrades in airport  facility for accommodation of passengers and aircrafts,No huge overhaul stations/major maintenance shops  in India unskilled Indian A.M.E's.

let v guess if this factors continues, airline industry in India going to destruction.

    thanks

  7. Major airlines are going downhill.  They were great in their day, but these days, they are a very poor choice for a career.  I would suggest cargo or a low cost airline.  Good luck.
