Can i purchase a car?

i have no credit at all. all i have is 2,000 dollars. what do i need to do in order for me to purchase a car. i have no car insurance. nor do i have a job. but will have a job in a few weeks. i thought about someone co-signing. but that person may say no. WHAT DO I DO? im 17 by the way.

Hey man. I'm 17 too so I know the pinch you're in! I've been saving up for my car for years and I just bought my car last year.

With $2000 and no insurance, it's going to be hard to find a car that it worth pouring that money in to. If you need one soon I'd look for a cheap early 90s Honda.  I would save up a little more and maybe look into getting a small loan from the parents / grandparents using some of the stuff you have as collateral.

Your parents want you to have a car, so they won't let you do anything dumb, they'll just help if they think it's worth it.

First, you need to get a job, then You need to find about a $1,000.00 car then spend the rest on insurance and registration.  The job may buy you a few gallons of gas per week and allow you to keep paying for future insurance.
