  1. You can put him in a card board box instead. this would be a better idea.i would not put them together case one of them has something and they can pass it to the other. I dont think that inter specis illness is something to worry about, i would just use caution and make sure that no one gets sick.

  2. NO - the python will see the tortoise as food. just keep the tortoise in a large drawer. (dont keep it in the cupboard though lol) make sure you put a lamp in there so it can sunbathe and a sleeping area and food area. =)

  3. No. Do not do that. A tortoise can't get over walls so just put it in a box or block it into a corner so that it can't go anywhere while you set up.

  4. My daughter volunteers at a local reptile rescue center and they have housed tortoises and pythons together, but it's not a real good idea..even for a short time.  The python is going to see the tortoise as an intruder in his territory and probably attack.  Now, I know the tortoise has built in protection, but it will still cause stress, which can be deadly for reptiles.  Your best bet is to find some sort of box or plastic storage bin to put the tortoise in temporarily.  The only time it would be safe to keep them together would be in neutral territory (as they do at the reptile rescue center).
