Question:

Can i put an Amaryllis bulb in a pot and grow it. Also bulbs are coming from England and i live in Vietnam?

Should i put in the shade or the sun. The temperature in my garden is about 33%. Thanks.

  1. Yes they will do fine in pots. A few hours of sun a day will not hurt them.Use a little bone meal in the potting mix when planting and keep a little of the bulb above ground.When they quit blooming only cut off the bad leaves  and leave the rest so the bulb can continue to take in nutrients, you may have to upgrade to a larger pot as they grow.


  2. Eddie W has given you good advice.  In your area you may be able to plant amaryllis directly into the ground with success. Not sure how cool it gets there in winter, and that may have an effect on next season's flowers.  But I know that I grow amaryllis in the ground in South Carolina with good success.
