Can i put my black convict ciclid in a 30 gal tank with 3 pink kissing gouamis?

Question

i have a male convict and 3 what evers in a 30 gal and the convict is in a 10 gal by himslef well the two tanks are by each other and and when ever the the black ciclid is on the side of there tank they swim over to that side of there tank and just stare at him and he swims toward them idk if they want to mate with him or kill him????

if you know please email me so i know if i can put him with them in a 30 gal tank....

It's hard to say if this would work out or not.  I think it wouldn't.  I'm not really sure buy my feeling is no this isn't going to be ok.

Mostly your Gourami will tend to occupy the top parts of the tank, and the Convict the middle to lower ends.  Two things here though.  30 gallons isn't a large footprint for the most part, and the sizes of the Gourami when they get older, as well as the Convicts, in that 30 gallon tank is going to bring them in contact with each other more then I think will work out.

My suggestion is return the Convict.  Convicts are aggressive to begin with, and sooner or later I'm sure you'll be tempted to add a female.  Adding a female is only going to make aggression worse when mating time comes, and you'll get flooded out with fry if they do mate.  Convicts are ok in themselves, but I think you'd need a larger tank for things to work out good, and besides that, I bet you can find a more appealing fish to get instead of a Convict.

The Convict will eat your Gouamis,they are not good tank buddies..

They don't have convict ciclids on there but other ciclids and gouramis and it will not be a good choice to have them together.
