Can i put my digital photocamera to laggage in a plain?

and not to carry with myself in carry-on?

some people say that low temperature in the plain may hurt it. it's a long trip to oversees.

  1. Putting a camera in your checked baggage runs the risk of theft.  This risk is low, but not zero. If a camera is stolen from checked baggage, the airline will give you NO MONEY since they do not recommend putting electronics or anything valuable there.  On the other hand, the average digital camera is worth less than a good suit, so it's not all that costly or risky.

    The temperature, humidity and general environment in the baggage compartment will not harm a digital camera.  

    Many modern digital cameras use lithium rechargable batteries. You are not allow to put these batteries in checked baggage due to the potential risk of them catching on fire.  I have never heard of a camera battery catching on fire by itself, but lithium cells do have this risk factor.


  2. You put it in your checked baggage and you'll never see it again.
