Can i put normal salt in my aquarium with goldfish?If i Can How Much?

I have 2 Shubunkins,2 Common goldfish, and one Gourami.My tank is a Ten Gallon Tank.

You can't use table salt as it is iodized and has other additives that are bad for fish.  You need to use either aquarium salt or evaporated sea salt, which you can buy at any grocery store.  Rock salt is not iodized, but it is often contaminated by heavy metals and minerals, so it's not a good idea to use it, either.  The recommended salt dosage is 1 tsp/gallon.  Add it with regular water changes, but not when topping off a tank due to evaporation as salt does not evaporate out.  Always dissolve salt in water before adding as straight salt can burn a fish's skin or gills.

Seriously don't do that. Aquarium salt only, it has different minerals than regular salt and isn't the same thing at all.

I know you can't put regular salt in there so don't. And in case you don't know your tank is so crowded it's silly. It may not seem like it now but the only fish that can fit in that tank is the gourami. The shubunkin and goldfish each get a foot long! So either upgrade your tank to at least a 55 or give back the shubunkin and the goldfish and get some smaller fish.

NOOOOOO please call a pet store and ask them - you can't use regular table salt - it's different from the salt they give you in pet stores - you don't want to hurt your fish!!!

noo im sorry no over the table salt nooo do not umm theres a spical type if you do use table salt they might die ;(ask a pet store whats best
