  1. It depends on what state you live in but I am pretty sure you will qualify for a medical card for all of you and foodstamps. That is the postion I am in now, I have a job starting next week but I quit my other job back in March and found out I was prego again. I was a manager at a gas station for 4 years and quit. Now I am 4 1/2 months prego and going to be working at taco bell. lol. I dont want to but it is very hard for only 1 person to be working, yeah you get your medical expenses paid for and possibly food but that doesnt help pay the rent and utilities...etc. And if you do work you still might be eligable for every thing. Have you ever heard of WIC, (women, infants and children)? They help you with food like, cheese, eggs, peanut butter and cereal. They will also help when you give birth to a baby they will either provide formula for you or help you to eat right while breastfeeding. A child can be on WIC until they are 5 years old. Just look in the phone book for the WIC office and welfare is usually called jobs and family services. Well hope I helped. Good luck!!!

  2. Yes married people do qualify for welfare if their income is low enough.  Where I live welfare will make the couple work a total of 36 hrs per week.  One parent must work at least 20 hrs.  I would give it a try it wouldnt hurt.  At the very least, you guys may qualify for food stamps.  Have you got on WIC?

  3. I know several families that receives benefits and the husband works. I saw on the news a few weeks ago that a good bit of my state's employees are collecting benefits. Rule of thumb in MS is that if your needs (monthly bills) exceed your means (monthly income) you will qualify. There is no harm in trying. Given the current state of the economy we all may need some assistance soon. Good luck..

  4. Welfare is based upon the TOTAL household income.  If your total household income is over a certain amount no you don't qualify.  In order to find out what would qualify you, for your states welfare you will have to contact the county you live in.  The taxpayers don't have to foot the bill for your family just because you dont' want to work.  I suggest you start looking for another job.

  5. Go to the local office and find out. You may qualify for some kind of help. I don't blame you for not wanting to put your baby in daycare. Hopefully you can find a part time job at night, so your husband can watch the baby.

  6. Probably not welfare.  Try opposite shifts.  My husband and I do it.  I work weekends (16 hour days =( and he works during the week.  It's tough, but we save on daycare and honesty, I don't really trust a daycare with my baby.

Good luck, and go online to your local agency.  You fill out a form and they'll tell you what you qualify for.

  7. it all depends on your state and household income. but can i give you some friendly advice? PLEASE apply for welfare only as a last resort. once you apply and are excepted, your life will change. believe me. i speak from experience. first, the government has to know all your personal business. second, any thing extra you get, say a 25.00 gift certificate or cash has to be reported. once reported, your aide will be decreased by that amount. i was in a car accident. i was working and receiving some aide. my settlement was 11,000. by the time the lawyer was paid, my medical expenses were paid, another clunker of a car purchased, i was left with about 200.00. welfare saw only that i got 11,000. they took me completely off aide and banned me from reapplying for 5 years. i tried to explain that all that money wasnt mine to keep i was told it was money I received, how you spent it isnt of any concern to us. well c**p. so as it turned out, i was only using the extra welfare income as extra spending money. i didnt realize it was extra until i didnt get it anymore. i was able to support myself and my child on my own. i'd try doing some babysitting for extra income. or call  the school and ask if they need teacher aides. do after school tutoring for the neighborhood kids. doing it on your own will make what little you think you have, more precious because you got it on your own. good luck

  8. Welfare is based upon the total household income. If your total household income is over a certain amount no you don't qualify. Which I know is wrong and with the prices of food going up it's hard. Go to www.foodstamps.gov and they will give you a list of incomes and you can print out a application and find where you can apply.

  9. Use welfare as a last resort - if you REALLY can't pay your bills and keep yourselves fed. Otherwise, figure it out and work like the rest of us. Otherwise, we are paying for you! I do wish you luck.

  10. You would have to fill the paperwork out to know for sure, but if you are a capable adult, why not work and earn what you have instead of looking for a hand out?

I raised two children, they never starved or went without a home, they may not have had the latest fad, or 120 dollar tennis shoes, but they both have graduated from high school, have good jobs and work for everything they have, just like we did.

  11. You may qualify for the Medical Card or for Kid Care, but I don't know about any cash assistance or food stamps.

  12. Trust me youre not gonna get welfare. Welfare is for people that do not work and cant work.

  13. I would assume that its based on your total household income.  I have been on welfare before but I was single.  And I am going to tell you this, they give you c**p for cash assistance and you wont be able to be a stay home mom. I dont know where you live but in my state when you get on welfare you have to either do 30 hours a week commuity service, get a 30 hour a week job, or 30 hours a week in a training program for a specific career goal.  If you do the 30 hours working they cut you off because your income increases.  Welfare is too much of a hassle you will make more money when you find a job that suites your hours.  But you have to do what you have to do for your family. Always remember that.  Good luck, I will pray for you!

  14. They will look at all of your assets. This includes your husband's salary, bank accounts, and any vehicles you own. Your husband's pay will have to be really bad in order for you to qualify for any type of cash aid.

  15. depends on what state you live in and how much money your husband makes
