I work at the VA Hospital. My supervisor is the most ungrateful person I have ever known. I just want to quit right know without giving any kind of notice. Can I do it and will they still pay me my hours I worked? I talked to HR and they said that I need a clearance form to resign. I dont want to get the clearance form from my supervisor. I just want to walk out and leave my badge. They would still have to pay me right? The payment is direct deposit, so I cant pick the paycheck up. I am not planning to use this place as a reference, just a summer job.

  1. You can quit however you want and they have to pay you for the hours you worked.  But I would be careful quitting this way because if anyone was to do a background check on your previous employers this would come up as job abandonment.  It's better just to put in your resignation.

  2. well they have to pay you the hours that you worked.. and your check will still get deposited wich is a good thing so that you dont have to face them if you decided to walk out on them like that.

  3. They can not refuse to pay for hours worked.  That's the law... they may delay in direct deposit however.... why don't you "get over that nasty tummy bug" until the direct deposit catches up.
