I am going to be a junior in High School, and I'll admit i slacked off those 2 first yrs. My gpa is 2.25 and i want to get it to a 3 by my senior year because the university i want to go to requires that! I want to know if this is possible, even if my chances are slim, I want to know!

  1. If you take the same number of classes junior year as you did the last two years, and you get A's in all of them, your unweighted GPA (which is what colleges ask for) can be as high as (2.25*2+4.0*1)/3 = 2.83.  You'd have to take significantly more classes in junior year and get A's in all of them to raise your GPA to a 3.0.  Specifically, 3/2 as many courses - so if you're already taking 8, you'd need to take 12 and get all A's.  So no, this probably isn't feasible.  But if you get all A's this year, and all A's the first semester of senior year, you will have exactly a 3.0 when you apply for colleges - if you can wait until you get your senior year fall semester grades before applying.

  2. If you get straight A's

  3. yea of course you can do that. Just try harder these next two years and aim for the high 3's and you should do fine. You could also think of taking a summer school class and try really hard in it so that can help boost your GPA a little more.

    Goood LUCK!!!!
