As stupid a question as it may seem I just wish to confirm that I could redo my CBT on my 50cc moped and then later get a 125cc without redoing the CBT.

I have a full license, I'm 19 will be 20 when I get the 125cc. I know I don't require L's on my ped as I hold a full license and I know I need L's on the 125cc when I get it.

  1. a CBT is only valid for 2 years, e.g if you pass it 1 june 2006 it will expire may 31st 2008, if you do it on a 50cc twist and go you can onli ride a 50cc or 125cc( if your 17 or older) twist and go if you do it on a geared bike you can ride a 50 or 125( 17 or older) geared bike, you must display L plates if you only have a CBT its 3 points per one missing. oh and remember to be legal on 125 with CBT it must not exceed 11 BHP

  2. Put simply, yes, you can do your CBT on anything;

  3. Yes you will. If you are over 16 it doesn't matter what size bike/moped you take the CBT on. You will still be allowed to ride any bike up to a maximum of a 125cc on learner status. It can be geared or automatic, there is no restrictions as to what bike it is!

  4. Depending on your age and the type of motorcycle you want to ride, there are up to three steps to obtaining your licence.  If you just want to ride a motorcycle as learner, then all you need is CBT.  If you already have a full car driving licence, then you may have full moped and provisional motorcycle entitlement already.  This allows you to legally ride a moped (up to 50cc and 30mph), without completing CBT.  However, we recommend everyone does CBT as it really is essential basic training.  It also allows people 17 and over to ride a learner legal motorcycle up to 125 cc (typically capable of about 65 mph), which will at least allow you to keep up with traffic.

  5. No, i think that is restricted ... but check it out anyway.

  6. you only need to do 1 cbt...at 17 you can ride a 125cc with l plates...L plates are needed on the bike[125cc] till your full bike test is passed.
