  1. there are two different aspect of reading Quran..

    1. Tilawat as part of worship

    2. Getting knowledge.

Reading Quran in any other language can't be tilawat. Of course you read it to learn what Allah SW telling us.

  2. Reading Quran in your own language is good to develop your understanding of this divine message. But reading it in Arabic brings you closest to Allah as these are His words. Now that Quran is availabe in audio and video formats its not difficult to read and understand it in Arabic. There are seven Mobeens in Quran which have great healing powers and one of its verse "Salamun min qulon Rabur Rahim" has its own great siginificance if you want to advance.the Sufis say three hearts should join together to see the benifits to the soul.1. your own heart, 2. the heart of night(Tahjud prayers....after you have slept for a while and an hour before dawn and 3, the heart of Quran ...that is Surah Yaseen. Try this and pray for all to be blessed by Allah

  3. It would infact be much better as you will actually be able to understand what you read instead of simply reciting it.  A combination of the Arabic and its translation is the best way to go.

  4. why not ,perfectly valid,as you must understand the meaning of what you are reciting,

  5. Of course if you don't understand arabic then it is ok to read a translation.  It's always good to learn the arabic if possible to gain a more complete understanding.

But in the meantime, reading a translation to gain understanding is certainly acceptable.

love for all, hatred for none

  6. yh but you get more thawab (rewards) if you read it in Arabic. There is a Hadith that said that you should read the Quran the way it was revealed and guess what it was revealed in Arabic. I'd say get a translated Quran so you can read it in Arabic and interpet the meaning in your language. But to answer your question reading it in your language wouldn't make it non valid.

By thewway putting effort whilst you are reading the Quran makes you get more rewards.

    Bless:)

  7. yes, of course

  8. you can read it in English or in any other Language but if you can read Arabic or read a bit of it. you should try because you get more swaab trying when you get form just reading..

  9. yes but not in salaat.

  10. if you read in another language, you are just reading the translation, you are not actually reading the Surah.

The only way to read the Surah is to recite in Arabic.

  11. Edited:

Just for reading/reciting, it is better to read in Arabic while understanding it.

And when you don't understand it in Arabic you can read in your own language to somewhat understand what it means.

Translation is not same as the real text and therefore we cannot say in reward it's same or similar.

Also, one cannot *recite the Qur'aan in any other language, except in Arabic.  This is why we are to say it/recite it in Arabic in our Salaah/prayer.
