  1. Providing that you have the original Windows Installation CD, it's as easy as booting from the CD and formatting and installing Windows from scratch.

    Hope this helped.

PS. Just to let you know that I don't have anything against Linux. On the contrary, I'm extremely happy with my Fedora installation and will not swop it for anything, but I also realize that all people don't feel that way. And, frankly, the arguments around which one is better, Windows or Linux, is getting quite boring. Whatever you choose... Happy computing...

  2. Sure, if you don't want Linux anymore you can just install Windows over the top of it. I think most computers that come with Windows also come with a Windows (re)installation CD, so just stick that in and reinstall Windows.

  3. I'm > 99.9% confident that no virus installed Linux on your system. Perhaps you mean that your lappy got messed up by a virus and you took it to a friend who installed Linux on it so you'd stop asking him to fix your virus-infested Windows?  ;-)

All you have to do is reinstall Windows using whatever Windows installation tools/CDs you have at hand. (There are several different methods, so without knowing what tools you have, we can't provide specific help. Chances are you have a System Recovery CD that came with your laptop, that if you boot from it will restore your laptop to a like-new software setup, which is to say, running Windows with all the manufacturer-provided drivel and virus-attracting vulnerabilities it had when you first bought it.)

Unless you specifically need Windows for some reason, you might be better served to learn to use Linux; it is, after all, the wave of the future, according to some.

  4. all you got to do is connect a cd or dvd drive if your laptop dont have one put the OS disk in the dvd/cd player and install it like you would install any thing else

ps try kubuntu it is awesome

  5. Yes. Just reformat it, or part of it.  You could dual boot it too if you want.

  6. It's unlikely the virus caused Linux to be installed.  Maybe you have a dual boot Windows/Linux system and your default boot switched to Linux  or your Windows boot fails and falls back to Linux.  In any case, yes, you can reinstall Windows as long as have your original Windows CD.
