  1. Without affecting the performance NO

  2. It will affect performance and running but this can be resolved with re-jetting of your carbs. I don't recommend removing the baffles. Try different pipes.

  3. dont do it! buy a less restrictive exhaust and have your e.f.i. remapped.

  4. You absolutely can do it yourself but DON'T...Listen to chopper C....It is imperative once you change the exhaust from stock to anything other you get the engine remapped as chopper C above states. If you fail to do this while at the same time adjusting with the exhasut flow such as you offer in your qeustion you will end up with a much louder bike for a while but then it will be very very quiet...It will be quiet becasue ti will no longer be running smoothly and well. It will eventually just shut down.....So if you must go for the sound then do it the correct way. Go to your trusted HD dealership and have your engine remapped and install the ideal decibel level pipes that you care for.......This is the only way to perform this task without effecting adversely your engine....It is expensive and will be at least 900 dollars ...reampping-pipes-labor all in at teh cheapest and it can run much much higher depending on the pipes ordered. Rhinhearts are some of the most expensive out there by the way. But you get what you pay for

  5. Short answer, don't!!

We don't need more obnoxiously loud motorcycles on the street.

Bad for public relations.  Takes away from your ability to hear what is happening around you when you ride.  Loud pipes take away the ability of other riders to hear what's happening around them.

Loud pipes do not save lives.  Complete myth one should not buy into.

So do not take out the baffles.

  6. yes but....

there should be 3-4 screws/rivits on the end caps of the slip-ons

remove the screws or drill out the rivets from the header end remove the cap and then take out the packing. put it back together if you had rivets I would get some stainless steel screws to replace them with so you can put it back in after all your neighbors are pissed
