Can i replace a 15 amp circuit breaker with a 20 amp breaker for more current?

good night everybody, i have a 115 volt ac arc welder, i am using it on a 115 volt 15 amp outlet protected by a 15amp circuit breaker, when i am welding the circuit breaker trip with in 20 seconds or less. i would like to know if i replace the 15amp breaker with a 20 or 30 amp breaker if it would work safe.

  1. Sure ... if you don't mind the fire that will probably start in the building wiring.    Distribution breakers are sized to protect the building wiring from overheating.  If a 15 amp breaker was used, it's probably on a circuit wired with 14 gauge wire.   If you need more power you better have an electrician add a new circuit.
