I have one of those original dial locks, and its fairly new. I got it from Safeway[ripoff!], so will they replace it? You can open it fine, but you have to slam it down on a countertop[or something hard] to jam it shut again.

  1. if you have the store paper they will that it back. but if you don,t then the bust way to fix it is to get a cup of oil and put the lock in itlet set for a day then that it out and wape it down then you should be above to open and close it much better.

  2. I dont think they come with warantes or garauntees, so most likely you wouldnt be able to get money back. But check the packaging for anything like a garauntee.

  3. can either take it back, or try lubing it, open the lock up and spray some WD40 in the hole, open and close it several times, might or might not help..

  4. Do not use oil, use powdered graphite instead. Put some in the hole for the hasp and then close it and open it a few times, that should make it easier to work.  Oil of any type will gather dirt and then dry out, causing mud to form in the lock. THis makes it very hard to work open or closed.  No matter what WD40 says.
