Can i report someone who scammed me

i was buying a ps3 off of craigslist.com and the guy lived in nj i lived in nyc and it was hard 2 trade in person so i westen union the money 2 him and he was suppose 2 give me the ps3 tracking num when he sent it 2 my house and i dindt receive my ps3 so wat shud i do plz help

By all means report that person so the person does'nt scam someone else. If by chance you paid useing paypal report the incident to them and to Craigslist.

Do not send anyone money!  Do some research first!

Report them but get info about who the money went to through Western Union!

Lesson learn , never western union anybody/anywhere except if you know that person personally. Just tell him if you don't receive anything within specific time, you will report to police. Just keep all the records of your conversation. report to the cops. Do not let this guy sleep.

Hey buddy,

I had the same thing with a wii. We have a site in UK where people put personal ads and sell stuff, its paradise for scammers.

Basically, report the guy to the police and to the website. They might bounce you around, but don't give up. Then you will need to give a statement to the police (thats what I did). Then you need to push the police and constantly keep asking them on how your case is progressing. Its likely the guy scammed more people than just you. The police will need to see the guys bank statements (if you made a transfer, is that what you did?) which means they need an order from the judge. It all usually takes quite a long time, up to a year, but you should have your money back if you persevere and just keep asking police for a progress report.
