  1. Systems do not damage a charging system in a car. They will help kill off the stuff that was about to die anyways. I've run over 1300 watts RMS off one battery with no problems for years. (Except for a noise ticket)

Your alternator will be fine. You need to remember to put a ground wire from the battery to the chassis the same size as your power cable. Your battery acts as a buffer or filter for your alternator. A 1 or 2 Farad capacitor will help your amp when its time for the bass to really pound

  2. Depends on the battery, what it's capable of, and how old it is. Generally speaking, when someone is upgrading equipment, I recommend they upgrade their battery too. An Optima Red Top battery usually works pretty well and you will typically get more use without having to worry about the battery getting worn out. The equipment we used in the military typically had Optima batteries in them.

  3. Some import vehicles come with small alternators .While you drive, your alternator is charging your battery along with the rest of the electronics in your car gauges,A/C,etc. When you install a large system it's pulling hard off of your battery so now your alternator is working overtime to try to keep your battery charged. So,yes! It could potentially damage your battery and alternator. But it will probably take a long time to do it with the amount of power you will be using.

  4. Depends if it is stock or not, you may need to replace it, but will most likely not need to add another..what i would be worried about would be the Alternator which is what actually generates the power, you will want to watch your alternator you can do this by watching for any electrical surges in your car, like if you are playing your subs and the cars interior lights and headlights completely shut off and turn back on or if the cars headlights violently flicker (pulsing headlights is normal with an amp, just be aware if they start to go crazy) all these can be signs that your alternator has too much pressure on it from the amps and is probably about to die...if this happens then you would need a High Output Alternator which costs around $400.
