  1. replace the hose but do not run draino through the washer it will ruin the seal on the agitator .

  2. I believe a better solution would be to replace the supply hoses to your washer. they might cost about 15 - 20 dollars but might be worth the money to eliminate the bad smell. If you do not think the smell is from the rubber in the hoses, then use white vinegar to keep both your clothes fresh and your washer cleaner. I always use vinegar in my laundry because I have sheets that always have urine smells and by using the vinegar it keeps both the sheets and the other laundry smelling clean but the washer stays fresh too. Try checking your water too. Sometimes water coming from wells or even from the municipality can come in smelling sulfery. Try installing a whole house filter into your water supply and this will help tremendously with the smells. Installing a water softener also helps with the conditions of the water...making it easier for your detergent to work at its peak. Hard water will always make it impossible to keep clothes clean. Good luck with this problem. Unless I knew what condition the water is in...it is hard to pin point the best solution.

  3. Please, don't use drano, you'll ruin the washer. I had this same problem and tried everything. The only thing that worked was getting the repairman from Sears out to take the washer apart and see if there was a moldy sock or something going on. While the machine was apart, I cleaned everything really well. Then he gave me a bottle of cleaning solution to let soak in the washer in hot water for an hour to dissolve the gunk that was causing the smell. Since then, every week or so, I run a cup of bleach or a cup of vinegar on the hottest, longest cycle. No problems since.

I would try calling Sears and see if you could buy a bottle of this cleaning solution from them. It was a little expensive, but well worth it. Then you can just do maintenance every week or 10 days to keep it from happening again. Hope this helps. Good luck!

  4. Happened to me:   Above the moving drum and just below the non-moving "box" of the washer is a small gap that "stuff" can, well, get stuffed into.  Look down the sides (you may have to turn the machine over to look.  Bring extra towels for this event)

You might find something in that area that's been there WAY to long.

Hope that ends it for you.
