This is another thing which is bothering me, other than my "clock/time" question... Sometimes you know many of us like to hum songs in our mind.. i do that at times, sometimes i like to think about movies dialogues in my mind as well... the creepy thing is, whenever i hum a particular song, the very same day lets say a few hours later, the same song is being played on tv!!!! when this happens it sends chills down my spine!! the longest has been two days the most for the song which i have thought to come up on tv,, and most of the time its not the new songs that i think of, some is classical, some are not famouse, and BAM its on tv within the next hour or 2 days!! same thing goes with movie dialogues which i think of.. the movie is actually played within 1 to 3 days of me thinking of it!!! again... whats wrong?!

  1. don't you think it is just coincidence?

Some people are 'gifted' and can see the future. Maybe you can but just don't let this make you paranoid.

  2. I get the same thing often. Songs that I've been humming are then played on the radio just after I've just turned it on, I may think about a movie scene and then think whats on TV to find that exact scene playing or the phone will ring and its the person that i had just thought i hadn't heard from in a while.

It was once suggested to me that its all to do with probability and that the brain is constantly thinking about songs, movies and people and when we get a 'match' we recognise that as strange and we remember it, but we disregard all the times that there is no 'match'.

It sounds logical, but I'm still not convinced that is the case as it feels as it happens way too much to me to be pure coincidence.

I'll be interested to see what other suggestions come up here.

  3. It happens to allot of people, however something you don't realize is many times when that does happen, you did hear the song  on the radio, or it came on TV the night before you were not paying attention to it.

Then your brain recalled it, you were humming your song, and then it played on TV/Radio.  You don't remember hearing it at the time it was on, because you were not paying attention, depending on what you were focusing it on the time.

As much as you think it seems paranormal, or different, Plenty of people have experienced this same phenomenon.  You can do a search on Yahoo, and see how many other people say the same thing happens to them.  Everyone that I have met says the same thing happens to them all the time, and they feel they are receiving a message.

For example if you ever drive down a busy street, with allot of shops , your brain can not process every shop , or all the information it is receiving. So it stops processing.  For some reason you remember seeing one store. Not sure where you saw it at, but remember the one store.  Then you drive down that same street, and wow how did you know that store was there?

    Understand?

  4. Um its probroley just a time that tv wants to play that song, and you also remember it. Go to freewebs.com/nickman007s for more information

  5. This is what's called confirmation bias.  You think of something and it happens.  What you fail to note however is that there are a lot of things you think of that don't happen.  You forget the times it doesn't happen but remember the times it does, so it seems like you're able to see the future.

  6. This is a well-known phenomenon - we all notice coincidences, but don't notice non-coincidences.

For example, if we dream about a dog chasing a cat, and then the next day we see a dog chasing a cat, we say, wow, that must mean something.  But hundreds of times we dream about such a thing, and it doesn't occur; and thousands of times we don't dream about it, but it does.

  7. I don't know and by the way either does anyone else.

I have included a link below for some online games/tests for psi abilities including precognition (seeing into the future).

The longer out you move this connection (3 days versus 1 hour) the more likely you are to be right based on just pure chance/coincidence.

In order to test this you need to set parameters (limits) to your experiment.

Write down every time you think of a song and then see if it comes on within the time you set (1 hour, 4 hours, whatever). Then you can eliminate all top 10 songs (the radio replays songs constantly) if your time limit exceeds 4 hours (a radio show shift). I would write them down but a song rarely played is better evidence. Also decide how long (10 days, 30 days) you will do the experiment.

This could be done with TV but you would have to not read the paper (TV schedule) or TV Guide and you would have to record the shows and not watch TV (you might see an advertisement for the show and forget). Of course the same applies like above write all the thoughts down and then after the time limit has passed go back and look at the recorder or TV schedule and try to find the show.

Yes, this means not watching TV for 2 or 3 days.

  8. Nothings wrong, that happens to everybody - it's called coincidence. I bet sometimes you hum a song but don't hear it - but I suspect that you'd soon forget about those times.

  9. "Can i see future?"

Did you see my reply coming?

  10. It's properly because you hum a well known tune. I don't think you can see the future.

But if it makes you feel better you can in your own way.

  11. Yes, through dreams by messenger.

  12. No,you can't see the future. What happens to you happens to everyone.Even for me,just yesterday I was humming a song.It pops into my head quite often. It goes".Que sera sera, whatever will be will be.The futures not ours to see.Que sera sera.I also get De javu a lot.I think I've seen this Q and A before.

  13. Unless your a loony, no

  14. This is not uncommon, this happens to a lot of people, and really runs more along the lines of confirmation bias than precognition. You remember the times that confirm your belief, but all the times you think of a song and it doesnt come on tv you ignore.

Ok, try this. See if you can force it. Think of odd songs deliberatly. Even pop songs. See how many you find on tv within 2 hours of thinking of the song. If you start getting hits that way, maybe you should look into testing for precognition.

However my guess is, your fooling yourself.
