Can i sell my pistol i just bought a month ago?

I bought a pistol at a gun store little over a month ago.. I've decided i don't want it anymore and want to get rid of it.. How do i go about selling it? Can i sell it to anybody?

Try selling it Ebay or Craigslist. I dont know if thats legal to sell a gun. But I sell my little electronics on there, people seem to check on it all the time. Hope I helped. Good Luck N be careful with that thing.,

Try to sell it back to that store where you bought it, it is much safer and much better.

Sure you can sell it. Though if its used in a crime it could come back on you. The best thing to do, would be to take it down to the gun store and have it sold for you.

Depends on which state you live in. In California it's illegal for people to sell or transfer ownership of any type of handgun without a dealers intervention. You have to handle the transaction through a dealer. Another thing you might want to think about is having a licensed dealer sell it on consignment for you.

Think about this. If the person you sell the gun to doesn't bother to register it and he or someone he knows uses it in a crime then ditches it. The gun is recovered by police and they run the serial numbers it'll come back to you.

Not only are you criminally liable for not registering it there could be civil consequences too.

I'd take it right back to the gun store where you bought it and see if they will take sell it on consignment.

That way they get to do the transfer and the buyer gets a background check just like you did when you sold it.

This is probably best way to ensure you don't provide a weapon to someone who shouldn't have it.

Laws about gun ownership and their transfer and sale differ by state and even cities and counties within each state.  Your local police department will know the rules of gun ownership and sales in your city.
