  1. Yes you can.  Go to http://www.timesharehelp.org

  2. Of course you can sell it, but you will not get nearly what you paid for it and have to bring in the difference.  Your best bet is to space bank it and/or rent it out.

  3. If I were you, I would just keep it and try to get enjoyment out of it.

I WOULD NOT recommend timesharesonly.com for ANYTHING!  They will want a fee from you UPFRONT and give you empty promises of selling your timeshare for big bucks!  They won't do this and will do virtually nothing, other than list your timeshare on their pathetic website.  Do not waste your money or time.  Go to Google and search that company, along with the word "scam".  You will see what I mean.

If you want to be able to point buyers in the right direction for financing send them to Tammac Financial http://www.tammacfinancial.com/resale.ht...

    or First Again http://www.firstagain.com

Both are reputable, but First Again has a more competitive interest rate.

Check out Timeshare Users Group for the answers to your questions.  http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/

Another poster was correct that the resale value is a fraction of what you paid for it.  Depending on the timeshare, it can depreciate 80% - 90%.  You, more than likely, will not get your money out of it.  Sorry to disappoint and I understand what you are feeling.

Also check out http://www.redweek.com and http://www.myresortnetwork.com

You may also want to check out current prices on eBay.

  4. I’m afraid I have bad news for you, but before anything you should check in to your rescission period clause.  In some resorts you are still able to cancel as long as you have not used the unit.

The resale market is terrible.  In most cases you will take a loss in your investment.

To resale or rent  a timeshare is a hard task, the basic rule is not to pay money up-front, don’t be another victim of a scam.

Unfortunately over 50% of people that really need to sale their timeshare falls for this resale scams where they charge money upfront and less than 10% of them use their only real option witch is to post it or offer it trough free advertising options as much, and as many sites as they can (it is ok to pay a few dollars to post in a great place but no more that $20 to $30).

There are some free classified adds where you can start posting:

  5. Yeah, but if you sell it for less than is owed, you still owe the difference.

Like lets say you paid 20,000

    You sell it for 15,000

You still owe 5000 and you dont get to use the timeshare.

    Edit:

Unless you financed it through some shady company that would make you pay the interest even if its paid of early.  Not too many companies do that, but a few still somehow manage.  I guess either way though, you could still sell it (there are tons of websites where you can list or directly sell your timeshare- I think most only pay somewhere between 50- 67% of the value though).

  6. Yes, you can sell your timeshare even if money is still owed. Obviously, you will still be responsible for the total loan amount, regardless of the final sale price.

Since you used financing on your initial purchase, look for a resale agency that also offers financing to their customers.

Many websites will offer low to no-cost advertising, but ask if they provide financing options to their buyers.
