Can i set my period back by starting a new pack of birthcontrol a week later?

im going on vacation sept 8th and that week im supposed to start my period, im on birthcontrol so im wondering if i stop taking my pills right now for 2 weeks can i set my period further back by two weeks? like for instance if i start a new pack sunday the 31st will i get my period the week of the 21st in sept???

  1. ABsolutely. I used to do it all the time -- but by accident. I would forget to take my pill and then I'd get my period right away and then I'd end up starting back on the pill when my period was over and it would change everything by a week. Mind you, I wouldn't do this all the time. It can really wreak havoc on your hormones but to do it deliberately for a special occasion once in while - you shouldn't have any trouble. Good Luck and have a great vacation!! But a word of caution - because you are playing with your cycle and everyone is different - you should still use other forms of birth control if you plan on having vacation s*x. Just because you played with your period doesn't mean that you absolutely changed your cycle and egg production right away. So be smart and use a condom and have a great time!!


  2. No, but you can start a new pack the week you would normally be on your inactive pills. You would most likely not get a period that month, or a very light one.
