It is possible.  You just have to do alot of research.  I would begin with http://www.wahm.com message boards and read, read, read. There is tons of information there that will help you avoid scams. You might want to ask around there and see if anyone there can direct you to Jamaica friendly companies  Next, go to http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site that has a directory of legitimate companies that hire home workers.  You will need to check location restrictions of each company you want to apply with.  Hope this helps you find what you are looking for!

It depends. What are your qualifications?

More than likely someone outside the US who wants to work online will probably be self-employed or in one of those selling schemes like Avon, Herbalife, Visalus.

I am sure there may be genuine online opportunities for Jamaicans, but I am yet to find any. Keep checking www.listjamaica.com. I was speaking with the webmaster and she seems to have plans of sourcing all that info.
