Question:

Can i sound proof my room by using large sponges? how do i do it? and is it expensive? and is it effective?

  1. The easiest way to sound proof a room is to hang up blankets, they are cheap to buy and you just use a hammer and nails to put them up.


  2. you can do it with sponge, foam or paper/carton egg trays.

  3. Besides buying sound board a cheep and easy way to sound proof a room is using toilet paper (obviously still on the roll).

    Sponges, I think would not be dense enough for a true sound proofing.

  4. I have seen it done with foam carpet pad and then a layer of the 'drop ceiling' ceiling tiles that you can by at lowe's or any home hard ware store.   The larger the pieces the less you need, the cheaper they are.
