  1. KUMON is for children, but if they let you enroll, it would be good to learn a child's curriculum if you're trying to improve English, as it is a very difficult language. It may help you, but only marginally as their style is concerned with memorization and familiarization with common words, and lots and lots and lots of examples. If that learning style works for you, then go ahead. :)

  2. Kumon isn't a college.

It is a school for children who are in need of extra help in literature or math.

I would recommend a different school.

If you're looking for something in Canada, why not look at University of Ottawa? I'm from the US, but my neighbor went there. Good school.

  3. I was in Kumon for around... 6 years or more. I took math, but i say that it has helped me in a way as it improved my speed and accuracy in solving math problems. My cousin took the English one, and from the way he's doing now, i can say that he improved.

basically, Kumon (if ever you are allowed to enroll) will start you off at a lower level (like me for example, i was grade 4 but i started with grade 2 math.) and from there, you have to work on sheets (200 usually) and then you take an achievement test. if you pass, then you move on to the next level (depicted by letters). if you don't pass, they're going to see where you got the most mistakes, and from there, they're going to review you in those parts before you're allowed to take the test again. It's all basically improving your speed and accuracy in both solving math problems and reading English stories and whatnot.

also if i remember correctly, the English learners in Kumon also have flashcards, audio CDs to listen too, books to read and in some cases spelling notebooks/booklets... all to improve a person's english. :)

But if it's college... then i suggest, try to find a place that will give you what you need for college. :) But if you still want to go to Kumon, then give it a shot. :)
