  1. If you don't plan to plant there it's fine. If you do plan to grow something this is what happens. Once the root reaches the round up the plant probably will start to brown and die off.

    Good luck with your project

  2. yes

  3. No.  You need to allow time for the RoundUp to be absorbed by the green parts of the grass and transported to the roots.  Also, grass is tough to kill, so two applications of Round Up may be needed.

Spray now, wait a week, spray anything that is still green a second time, wait a week, spray green stuff once more,  wait three or four days, put down landscape fabric.

  4. Yes, but at least let it dry. better still to let it turn brown. And if you have troublesome weeds (and a little extra time) like wiregrass and nut grass, allow them to regenerate a little and spray them again.

Don't forget to pin down the fabric, or it will work its way back to the surface. A real pain then. If you have overlaps in the fabric, shingle it like a roof.

  5. that defeats the purpose of the Round Up.... the idea with it is to use it on 'actively growing' plants.... that's the only way the chemical can be transported to the roots to kill the whole plant.... if you spray and then cover, the weed/plant gets no light, stops growing and the chemical doesn't get carried to the roots... thus, no kill happens.... spray, wait until the tops are dead at least before you cover the area....
