Can i spray wood with something to stop or reduce termites in a new addition i am doing ?

  1. Don't be foolish with this.  Call a professional exterminator.  We tried getting rid of termites ourselves using all kinds of methods.  None worked.  It wound up costing us over $40,000.00 in repairs!!!

    Call a professional right away.  It will be much cheaper in the long run.


  2. Borax and stuff like that won't work on termites.

    They have special strong termite spray that you can get from Lowe's or Home Depot.

    Also if your adding a whole new addition it would be good to get it treated by a pro. They use termite treatment that most people can't buy at a store.

  3. from a pest control supply house or over the web you should be able to buy a product called Timbor (it's a borate).  You mix the package with water in a gallon sized garden sprayer and saturate the wood. This product is made for what you are wanting it for.  Do note any left over product should not be poured out on the lawn or near wanted plants...borates are also long term herbicides
