Can i start my career in railways?

i'm doing my b.tech in IT branch...i'm very interested in railways...please tell me is there a way out for me to go in railways...also tell me about the courses etc which i should do for it...i'm from INDIA......please reply..

I don't know bout India, but in the US you need a relative or REALLY good friend to get into rail...

You should apply for the UPSC (Union public Service Exam) and get through it.  In that some way down the order starting from IFS, IAS etc you will have IRES, IRAS etc ie the Indian Railway Enginering Service, Indain Railway Accounts Service and so on .  You can opt for any of them if your rank is high enough.  All the Best.
