  1. get them of opposite genders

  2. No they will kill eachother. You can have a male and a female together however

  3. Two males: No. They will kill eachother.

Two females: Yes, they can live quite harmoniously, but I wouldn't recommend it in that small of a tank.

A male and a female: No. The male will harass and try breeding with the female, injuring or even killing her, and amateur breeding is nigh impossible.

For a two gallon, I'd suggest one male betta.

  4. If they are both male, no.

  5. 2 males no

2 females yes but they may nip each other and get infected so i don't recommend it

1 male 1 female only if you are a breeder

also i would go 5 gallons minimum for bettas

    and they need heters

  6. No! Two bettas cannot share the same tank together- especially two males! These fish are bred to fight and if put together will fight to the death. You could get a divider for the tank, but make sure they cannot slip around it or jump over it.

    Here is a betta-compatability chart I made:

    Male-Male: Never

Male-Female: Only for breeding or in rare situations (read up on it first)

Female-Female: Can work if you have 3 or more in a sorority tank, yet some females can be aggressive.

Use this website it is excellent:

  7. I've heard via www.petco.com that a FEMALE BETTA and a FEMALE BETTA go together medium-well, and can generally co-exist. I've heard that you shouldn't put a male and female betta together unless you are breeding them, and that you should NEVER put two males together, because they get territorial and one will kill the other.

  8. i dont know much but I dont think you should. if you really wanr 2 in the same tank you should get one of those tank dividers.

*if you get a male and female and seem to be ok with eachother through the divider, you could probrably remove the divider.

    * im not sure about this bit

  9. Only if they are of different s*x. 2 males will fight. The females are less colorful than the males its easy to tell difference.

  10. no they will kill each other the minimum tank for 2 bettas in the same tank is 55g.

  11. You can't put 2 bettas together in a 2 gallon tank. You need at least 2 gallon tank for 1 betta. If you want to keep 2 male bettas, get a bigger tank (10 gallon) and put a separator between them. Until you’ve learned their personalities never put a male and a female into the same tank either,

unless you are breeding. Keep them separate and when you want to breed them, put the female in your male's tank/side and see how he acts. If he's aggresive, move her back and try again later or next day until he gets used with her. If is not working, you HAVE to keep them separate.

    Hope this helps :D

  12. IF they have anough room, yes u can
