Can i still be a firefighter if i have a 2nd degree arson charge that was expunged?

this is the only thing i have ever dreamed of doing and i made a bad decision that will haunt me forever, but will a fire dept hire me with a charge like this even if it had been expunged?

  1. There is a BIG ethical issue there and you will have some SERIOUS explaining to do when in interviews. You may not even be accepted into a fire academy with that charge. If you lie about having been charged, and they find out you will be fired. If you let them know about it, chances are, they will not hire you.

    You might need to forget about being a firefighter...Maybe a real estate agent? lol  

    Sorry...that one mistake could have screwed your dream!


  2. on the basis it was expunged then i would assume your record is clean and therefore they would not know.

    BUT........ on the basis you had to ask the question then maybe youre not inteligent enough to be a firefighter !!!!!!

  3. if it was expunged correctly it shouldn't even show up on your record. Go to the court house and get a copy of your police record to see.

  4. Based on your arson charge, expunged or not, I do not think I would want you as a firefighter in my town. That is way to scary.
