  1. maybe not (depends on your talent and athletisism), but college is always an option :)

  2. Not really, UNLESS, you give up school and a normal teen agers life and practice tennis everyday for like 10 hours, then you might have a tiny chance of becoming pro.And of course you will need to have natural talents like Roger Federer to become pro. But most likeley starting tennis at an age of 15 is too late.

  3. yup you can you just have to try even harder so you can be #1 in tennis!

  4. i am 15 years old too and i start playing tennis for 6 months and i believe that if you want of course you can do as well as roger federer or better!

  5. Depends how badly you want it. If you want to be pro then you would have to be totally committed. You're still somewhat young.

But you will have to take lessons and practice constantly.

You can do anything you set your mind to.

  6. Dear Dave,

I think it's too late already.. But there are one person who won Wimbledon Open in 1991 or around it when He start playing tennis at 14..

  7. i think it's pretty late to start to be the best player, but if you just want to be a player better than average, then it's ok i think...

  8. Play hard.

  9. YOU WILL PLAY TENNIS BUT NOT UPTO THE MARK

  10. yes, actually if you have the talent and passion for the game, then nothing is impossible.

like i started playing when i was 14,but now i can beat many advanced players

  11. we're in the same situation actually, but it is not in the age actually to be the best tennis player. it is in your heart and it is your passion. just put your mind and heart to it. LAW OF ATTRACTION!!!

  12. If you wish to start to just be an average tennis player, then that seems more easier and less harder, and it's ok. But if you're going to be a pro tennis player, then that may not come for you. You need lots of work and experience if you want to become a pro. Start small, and then go for the top.

  13. yes of course. if u r dedicated to the game , then you can achieve anything is possible . remember the phrase "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE"

  14. Hello,

Nowadays people tend to start earlier and earlier, even at the age of 4 or 5... So 15 is pretty late.

Especially if you know that number 1 players or Grans Slam winners like Michael Chang won the French Open at 17, Boris Becker won Wimbledon at 17, Sharapova won Wimbledon at 17...

Martina Hingis won Wimbledon for Juniors at 12, her first Grand Slam title at 16, and became number 1 (for a 4-year stretch) when she was only 17...

So I am afraid it is absolutely impossible for you to reach their level in 1 or 2 years, if you've never played before. No chance at all.

Now, that doesn't mean that you couldn't become a professional player, but I do think it's a good idea to stay realistic, and have reasonable targets and not unrealistic dreams that could cost you a lot of energy and money only to meet with major dissapointment at the end because your goals were completely unrealistic.

Bottom line is: it doesn't matter at which age you start playing tennis, as long as there's a moment at which you can beat the top ranked players of your age or better. That would be a good idea for you to check out, because sooner or later, you have to be very good to become a PRO, and say when you're 16, you have to beat most other top-ranked 16 year-olds...

Of course, you could still become a PRO after all, if you practice 6 days a week for the next 5 years... If you're talented, then it's likely that you will reach the sub-top on a regional level (e.g. top-50 of your state) that will allow you to become a full-time tennis teacher, and if you make you money with teaching tennis, then you're also a tennis pro.

But becoming a top-ranked WTA player (let's say top-50 in the world) when you start at 15 for the first time? I would say: no way, impossible.

    Good luck with your venture!

    Thomas

  15. I'm in the exact same position as you. I am gonna start tennis this sunday, but i still want to be pro..
