Yes, but there are some jobs that you can't have a police record.  For example, Telstra, some govt jobs, some finance and banking jobs etc.

It also depends on what your record is.  A lot of companies will overlook a minor offence, but won't overlook a B&E, assault etc.

Just don't let your record stop you from trying because if you have learned your lesson and paid your debt to society, you can rebuild your life and your success.
